(San Matteo della Decima/Bologna 1728 – 1781 Ravenna)
St. Joseph with the Christ Child, oil on canvas, 73 x 53 cm, framed,
Certificate: Prof Ugo Ruggeri, luglio 2010. There is evidence in this painting of the strong influence of the work of Piazzetta, which Ubaldo Gandolfi got to know on his visit to Venice in 1760. In fact it was the reason for his artistic attachment to the Serenissima.
