porcelain, 3 parts, the bodies with narrow and wide gilt edging, the lid with a large armorial cartouche, the polychrome and gilt painted coat-of-arms with gilt crest, surmounted by a gilt crown, both supported by amorettes, the facing side decorated with a large sculpted polychrome blossoming bough, the reverse side with green reeds, the fluted lid with small polychrome painted flowering branches, the facing side of the baluster with a large polychrome painted scene “Hector's Farewell from Andromache” flanked Pallas Athena with helmet and shield, as goddess of the art of war, Nike with laurel wreath, goddess of peace, leading the way to the camp, a crown, 2 heart-shaped cartouches containing the royal coat-of-arms of Poland and the coat-of-arms of the Prince-Eletorate of Saxony, flanked by 2 amorettes and joined by rose garland, the foot with light purple and turquoise fluting and gilt edging, large sculpted polychrome blossom- and fruit garlands, each with 1 cupid holding flowers, large reed handles with blossoming boughs, each surmounted by a pair of amorettes embracing, and holding a floral wreath, floral cornucopia, and floral bouquet, the socles each with 4 volute feet and encrusted with blossoms, the facing side decorated with a polychrome painted scene “Hector's Farewell from Andromache” and “Cupido tying Aglaia to a laurel tree” after Angelika Kauffmann, total height: 100 cm, minor restorations;

Carl Thieme, Potschappel, Dresden, Germany, underglaze blue mark ca. 1888, model by Johann Joachim Kändler 1760, made on commission of Friedrich the Great, 1712–1786, as a unique piece (Ru)
