Cupid, silver 800/1000, column-shaped pedestal made of fine wood, total weight 1,087.20 g, Austro-Hungarian assay 1972 - 1921, height 18.5 cm, total height 49 cm, signed C. Klouček, master’s mark Šebor (Ši)
Bohemian sculptor and stucco designer. From the 1890’s he participated, as a decorator, in the stucco decoration of the exteriors and interiors of numerous Prague palaces and apartment houses. In addition to designs for architecture, he also devoted himself to minor sculptures, where he was particularly focused on the child's figural creation. Currently traceable works are scarce, made in stucco or ceramics. In addition to the offered Cupid, there is only one more realisation in silver with the theme of a child figure - “Honourable Gift” from 1892, which, however, is currently missing and only its documentation has been preserved.
