In the 1990s, Lois Weinberger developed his poetic and political concept of nature, contributing substantially to the discourse on ‘Art & Nature’. In 1997 and 2017 he was invited to show his work on Documenta and in 2009 in the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. The label ak7 acts as an interface between art and design. Based on the ideas of the Arts & Crafts movement and the Wiener Werkstätte, design objects are conceived by international artists and produced manually by local handicraft businesses in editions of seven items each. The present object is No. 4 from the limited edition of seven. With original certificate of authenticity signed by Lois Weinberger and the book accompanying the series. ‘If you sit on it, it’s a chair, if you walk around it and look at it, it's a sculpture’ (Richard Artschwager).
