for Goed Wonen, Netherlands, oak frame on four legs, woven rush and reed seat and backrest, height approx. 82, width approx. 62 cm, depth approx. 65 cm. (MHA)
The Dutch architect Mart Stam became primarily known for his design of the first cantilever chair. Besides the present armchair from the late 1940s/early 1950s, Mart Stam also designed a comparable rustic chair for the Dutch God Wonen company in 1947.
