wired for single light; sheet iron, partly white enamelled; metal ring and iron chains, the chains partly corroded; a wood cover added to the ceiling plate at a later date for mounting, the wood cover painted with white lacquer on the sides; two screws replaced, traces of use; luminaire made of white opalescent glass; electrical fittings require professional servicing; height: 49 cm, diameter of upper ceiling plate: 49 cm, diameter of metal ring: 31.4 cm. Adolf Loos used this type of ceiling lamps inter alia for the furnishing of the apartment of Dr V. Rosenfeld (Wattmanngasse 11, Vienna XIII). This lamp was also to be found in the salesroom of Erich Mandl Gentleman’s Outfitters (Stephansplatz/Rotenturmstraße 2 and 4, Vienna I).
