Kuba Dragon Soumak,
East Caucasus, c. 355 x 157 cm, dated 1907, woven in kelley format with soumak technique, this piece does not belong among the very old collector’s carpets, nevertheless it displays very beautiful dragon motifs, is in excellent state of preservation and can still be used as a hard wearing floor rug, all sides original with honeycombed warp braiding, inscription with date at top in the left green border.
