This intense, patriotic work executed in 1916 well represents the interventionist spirit of Futurismo. “Tradotta” was the name given to the special trains that transported the soldiers to the battlefront and back all along Italy. After the dramatic development of the war events and trough the narration of the war experience of his friend Ottone Rosai, Baldessari will come again on the theme in a very different critical way and with a deep attention to the human dram as we can see in “Il treno dei feriti” (1918), maybe one of the most famous of his paintings, today at Museo Civico in Rovereto.
