very massive horizontal brass plate construction, weight-driven, double clockwork gear mechanism, anchor escapement, display of phase of moon and lunar calendar, calendar, striking of quarter hours with carillon of 16 bells, six tunes with choice of title and engraved title-name, striking of hours on two bells, matt face with rounded top, engraved numeral ring, colour painted moon, applied stars, blued steel hands, waisted wooden case later painted cream-white, removable top section with tapering finial glazed on three sides with one door, 253 cm, Denmark ca. 1750/60, signs of age and use, no warranty for time-keeping accuracy or durable operation, 4 wrights, 1 rod pendulum, 2 winders, 1 case key, (HP)
