Made in the Louis XVI style in the 2nd half of the 19th century. An oak table with tulipwood veneer, decorated with marquetry wave bands and depictions of books rendered in various fine woods, some exotic. The table is set on conical legs, the top is edged in a gilt brass frame and has fine bronze doré mounts and a top which slides back slightly. 71 x 47 x 32.5 cm. Fine restored condition. (MIN) The work of Charles Topino, who designed a number of similar tables, clearly served as model for this piece.
