Louis XV period, France, 18th century. A serpentine three-drawer oak and softwood chest with rosewood veneer and marquetry panels, decorated with lavishly crafted gilt bronze mounts. Stamped J. C. ELLAUME (Jean Charles Ellaume, maitre 1754) and JME (Jures Menuisiers Ebenistes). With a shaped marble top (Rouge du Maine). 87.5 x 130 x 64 cm. In fine cared-for condition, with two keys.
