German School of the 1st half of the 17th century

German School of the 1st half of the 17th century - Old Master Paintings

oil on copper, 19 x 14.7 cm, unframed

The Prince Elector, Georg Wilhelm of Brandenburg, who may be the sitter here, was one of the most unlucky rulers of the House of Hohenzollern. This painting must have been executed in the circle of painters, including Lorenz Strauch and Gortzius Geldorp.
