A set of twelve chairs,


design attributed to Josef Hoffmann, Vienna c. 1914, beechwood, stained black, height c. 93 cm, width c. 47 cm, depth c. 45 cm, height of seat c. 47 cm. The present chairs represent a variant of model 826, designed by Josef Hoffmann for Jacob & Josef Kohn in 1914. This model was part of the Werkbund Exhibition in Cologne in 1914 and of the Wiener Werkstätte showroom, Kärtnerstraße 41, Vienna, 1916 and was used in the sales office of Poldi Hütte.

Literature:
Kohn Catalogue 1916, p. 19. Signs of age and wear, scratches and worn areas, some parts slightly chipped/losses, some parts have been supplemented.
