Known as a bureau de forme rognon, in the Louis XV style, second half of the 19th century, kidney-shaped desk with superbly executed latticework rosewood marquetry, together with outstanding bronze doré mounts, three frieze drawers, a sliding leather-lined writing surface, six drawers atop flanked by candle holders, ca.106 x 125 x 60 cm, original condition, with some damage to the veneer. (PZ) A piece which, from its formal quality as well as standard of execution, can be associated with the great names of French cabinet making such as Linke and Millet.
