Certificate: Dr Ursula Härting (August 2009) Provenance: aristocratic collection, Paris. Dr Ursula Härting has identified this painting, examined by her in the original, as one of the few collaborative works produced by Frans Francken with his son, Hieronymus, to whom very few paintings at all have been attributed with any certainty. Their interaction is fascinating to observe below the group on the left hand side behind Moses. The father and son whose hands can be clearly distinguished one from the other in certain details, produced in the present painting a homogenous, harmonious work demonstrating all of their personal traits.
