Splendid early Baroque hall cupboard,
German, 1st half of the 18th century and later. Made in walnut and walnut veneer over softwood. A demountable form with wedge joints, a richly moulded cornice, lateral overhanging decoration, 6 twist turned columns at the angles with scrolled bases, also on the uprights, 2 doors, the angles and sides with richly moulded bastion panels, and 2 plinth drawers. Ca. 220 x 225 x 80 cm. Later restoration to the plinth and cornice, in cared-for condition. (DOC)
