Rare Chinese Hanging,
China, c. 212 x 148 cm, about 1800, Chinese silk and silver embroidery on silk ground, archaic sea waves, two dragons with flaming pearl and two phoenixes facing each other; possible repairs are no longer detectable and although a few strong colours do come to the fore, the use of natural dyes cannot be completely excluded, overall in very good condition, mounted on fine cotton lining, the upper right corner damaged.
