Central Persia (Iran), c. 218 x 132 cm, early 20th century, finely knotted carpet from the master workshop with a portrait of Nur 'Ali Shah sitting in a garden, with magnificent architecture in the background, all borders with inscription cartouches, the upper centre of the image featuring the signature: "Tasvir Nur Ali Shah", original deep pile throughout with only minimal signs of wear and a few small repairs, with silk selvedges and original finishes, both long sides supported with a linen band on the back.
