With the Australian John Nixon, the Dutchman Jan van der Ploeg and Heimo Zobernig, the opening exhibition of Galerie Heimer und Partner is presenting three pieces that can be described as “neo-constructive”.
In one room, there are five mirrored foils stretched over aluminium frames. They are part of the 42 created by Zobernig for the Space Place exhibition in Kunsthalle Tirol in 1999 (1999-15, ill. 552, cf. p. 194). They give structure to the room and seem to expand it. In a second room, three images are on display. These show the letters “A” (2001-8), “B” (2001-9) and “Z” (2001-10) in Helvetica Black filling the entire canvas, painted in black acrylic on a white background.
