Architecture has its origins in the sacred realm.
Humanity’s need to build things first manifested itself in the construction of structures for sacred purposes, with magical, sacredly sexual meanings. The first stake, a pile of stones, a sacrificial block of stone hewn from a crag are the first structures, they are man-made structures with spiritual meaning and purpose – they are architecture. They have a solely spiritual, magical function. They do not have a material function.
They are pure architecture – purposeless.
