Brussels (Netherlands), c. 238 x 288 cm, last third of the 18th century, extraordinary museum-quality tapestry with pillaging troops and a battalion with raised lances as central motif, never the less its dominant feature is not the battlefield, but rather the very beautifully executed large Renaissance border and the valuable spoils in the foreground, overall the carpet displays bright colours and well-preserved orange-red hues, wholly complete with numerous repairs due to age, entirely secured with new supporting linen and a Velcro strap on the back probably for hanging.
