South Persia (Iran), c. 190 x 162 cm, about 1900, the Afsharis are among the most widespread tribes in Iran, one of their characteristic carpet motifs consists in an arrangement of heavily stylised roses, especially noteworthy in the present specimen is its high, soft pile wool, excellent condition, minimal repairs to the lower end, shirazi replaced.
