Yomut, - Oriental carpets, textiles and tapestries

West Turkestan, c. 248 x 160 cm, end of the 19th century, the “striped yomut” with “ok gosi” pattern were usually used for flatweaves only and in the case of hand knotted carpets they are attributable to the sub-tribe of the “Jaffarbai”, very striking are the “Yomut eagle” or horn motifs in both elem ends, pile with slight signs of wear, endweaves partly still preserved.
