West Turkestan, c. 74 x 112 cm, mid-19th century, white ground hanging for a bridal camel, decorated with seven trees covered in erre guls, the classic diamond pattern is created by diagonal leaves, which in more recent specimens display sharper outlines and more pronouncedly jagged shapes, a further indication of this item’s age is its rare crimson main border; only minimal traces of usage, original side edges, lower finish cords no longer entirely preserved.
