West Turkestan, c. 62 x 47 cm, mid-19th century, always manufactured in pairs and sewn together into a pouch, used as tent pole containers and carried by camels, mostly with characteristic pattern of diagonal jagged leaves, the present piece displays a very archaic drawing in the ashik guls of the four spikes; used, with some old moth damage, low pile and trimmed edges, lower third and upper left finish on the back secured with fabric.
