West Turkestan, c. 55 x 133 cm, mid-19th century. the group of Tekke torbas with large chuval gul, chemche secondary motifs and kotshanak border is mostly from the second third of the 19th century, usually with six guls, whereas 12-gul torbas are rare; velvety, soft wool quality without any traces of usage, with original back weave featuring a partly brocaded pattern and fine knotted density of c. 4,400 kts/sqm, fully preserved.
