West Turkestan, c. 92 x 161 cm, beginning of the 19th century, these two lots, which are offered separately, are parts of a former central carpet, with c. 50 cm of the central field missing, especially noteworthy is above all the light-coloured “shuttle” border featuring abstract lotus flowers and lancet-shaped leaves, the central field shows a pattern of diagonal “kepse” gul decorations in alternating colours, from top to bottom the kepse guls are decorated with five diagonal striped patterns and classical gul cores, only the lower motifs feature four small c-gul decorations as core motifs, both elems with tree shapes, lower end with kilim remains, low pile with minor bare areas, edge damage.
