West Turkestan, c. 248 x 208 cm, end of the 18th/beginning of the 19th century, violet-red central carpet with “tauk noska” guls, magnificent “chemche” decorations and additional tertiary motifs, with bright colours, the pink areas in the borders in particular are extremely rare and were used only in very early pieces, the main border displays a Turkmen hooked wavy vine with change of pattern at the lower ends; in very good overall condition for its age, with limited signs of use and only a few minor repairs, replaced selvedges, both knotting ends are complete with short woven finishes.
