West Turkestan, c. 230 x 196 cm, beginning of the 19th century, central carpet with 4 x 9 large primary guls and “chemche” secondary motifs in varying bar design, the main border with “shelpe” motifs is accompanied only by a narrow patterned stripe, whereas later carpets are characterised by several borders and hence produce a cluttered effect; with partly low pile areas, a large repair to the upper left corner, newly overcast side edges, kilims are no longer present, both knotting ends have been slightly reduced.
