A porcelain clockcase with amorettes and allegories, - Glass and Porcelain

surmounted by a small genius atop a globe, holding palm leaves, the genius supported by 2 amorettes, to the left of the clock Luna, the goddess of the moon with an hourglass in her raised right hand, a sleeping child on the base before her, to the right Aurora, goddess of the dawn, with a gilt morning star in her hair, on the base a child waking up, a genius handing the child a compass as an allegory of Architecture, and embracing two children, the latter holding a palette and brush, respectively book and stylus, representing Painting and Poetry, central clock case with white dial, gilt and black Roman numerals and clock hands, the reverse side of the clock case with yellow metal plate and door, the body with narrow and wide gilt edging, leaf rocailles heightened with light turquoise and light purple, and sculpted rose stems, height: 46,5 cm, width: 33 cm, depth: 16 cm, minor restorations; Meissen, underglaze blue crossed swords with line, very rare version, 2nd half 19th cent., model N 200, former no. 187, red painter no. 36, model by Johann Christian Hirt 1886 (Ru)
