Memmingen, circa 1743, pewter, circular, conical, tapering towards its apex, three applied lion’s head sculptures as feet, hinged lid curving upwards, thumb rest with lion mask sculpted in relief, engraved dedication to body: ‘Das Ehrbare I. Landwerck der Becken/Obman Herr Sebastian Mayr/Herrn Geschworne/Sebastian Brey/Sigmund Wideman/Martin Brandenmüller/Johannes Müller’, lid with applied cartouche and engraved bretzel, dated ‘43’, city mark: Memmingen and master’s mark: ‘IGW’ (Johann Georg Wagner) to handle, rosette to underside of base, height 36.5 cm, dents, (HS) See Erwin Hintze, vol.
