Vienna c. 1955, four-legged wood frame construction, upholstered light textile covering and blue synthetic leather covering. Height c. 92 cm, width c. 64 cm / 66 cm, depth c. 64 cm, height of seat c. 47 cm (MHA)

The present armchair model was used for a conference hall in the administrative building of Steyr Daimler-Puch AG at no. 7 Kärntnerring, built by Carl Appel in 1955/1956. The building, known as Steyrhaus, burnt down in 1989 and was subsequently demolished. The two armchairs with blue synthetic leather covering come from the estate of Carl Appel and were originally in his villa. They are characterised by a particularly elegant armrest (more curved and slightly wider than the first model) and a recess in the backrest.
