This depiction follows a gouache on cardboard, after a design by Raphael, 1483- 1520, from the bathroom of Cardinal Bibiena, 1513-1620, in the Vatican, Rome. This gouache was created by Michelangelo Maestri, 1750-1812 Rome. His highly decorative gouaches feature motifs of the Antique spaces in Pompeii and Herculaneum that had been discovered shortly before or are based on designs by Raphael and his student Giulio Romano, as in this case. Raffaelo Santi, Urbino 6.4.1483-6.4.1520 Rome, Italy.
