South Caucasus, c. 180 x 94 cm, late 19th century, manufactured in soumak technique, this piece displays the ‘double T’ motifs typical of this region with an abstract stylisation of the sun eagle, the white parts of the pattern are executed in cotton, both ends with knotted warp threads, used, with some abrasion to the pattern.
