...This way of forming structures encompasses two diametrically opposed solutions.
One reinforces the linear aspects and reduces masses, with a very flat distribution.
In this variant, the aim is to attain concise shapes, such as pyramids, circles, ovals, etc.,
or curvilinear, spacious forms of organisation covering the entire surface. Bischoffshausen has
based each of these works on a problem revolving around transformation, such as the transition from an oval to a straight line, the mutual avoidance practiced by curved lines or the emergence of a wave from a straight line and its successive return to this initial form.
The titles, ‘Stratification de l’espace’ and ‘Apparition’ define a framework of interpretation located between the layering of space, as connected to its dynamisation, and its ‘appearance’. …
