colourless glass, 33 items: 1 jug with stopper height: 38,5 cm,1 jug without stopper height: 27 cm, 1 carafe with stopper height: 23,5 cm, 6 champagne flutes height: 20,5 cm, 6 glasses for red wine height: 18 cm, 6 glasses for white wine height: 17 cm, 6 aperitif glasses height: 15 cm, 6 liqueur- or liquor glasses height: 10,5 cm, the bodies with various cut décor, the base with cut star design and etched mark, Cristallerie Saint-Louis,
France, 2nd half 20th cent., model "Tommy", design 1928 (Ru)

The mouth-blown, hand cut crystal glasses are carefully crafted with elaborate detail. The production of a single glass involved ten glass blowers and five glass cutters over a period of ten days. Their fame originates in a legendary dinner in 1938 when, on the occasion of a visit of King George VI. to the hall of mirrors at Versailles, each place was set with eleven glasses from the "Tommy" series.
