George Lawrence Bulleid originally was a sollicitor and turned to painting only later. He studied at the West London School of Art and the Heatherley School of Fine Art. He exhibited regularly at the West London School of Art and at the Heatherley School of Fine Art. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Watercolour Society and focused on depictions of contemplative or sometimes even melancholic individuals.
