Research in the Historisches Museum am Main has shown that the present item is very likely a work by Johann Albert Lüthi. Almost the same motifs as in the present window (the young lady surrounded by flowers, behind her the sheep in the landscape and the two churches in the background) are present in 2 drawings by Lüthi. The Historical Museum in Frankfurt contains 600 designs by J. A. Lüthi.
Johann Albert Lüthi, Höttigen near Zurich 24.2.1858-11.12.1903 Frankfurt, was a Swiss glass painter. He also worked as an architect. From 1876 to 1880, he attended the Polytechnic in Zurich, and from 1901 onwards he was director of the Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich.
Johann Albert Lüthi produced stained glass windows for the Henneberg Gallery in Zurich, the Michaelskirche in Zug, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Zurich and the Christuskirche in Karlsruhe, among others. He created designs for the windows in the Lukaskirche in Dresden, 3 round windows of the reformed church in Rohrschach. For the parliament building in Bern he designed 22 coats of arms of the cantons of Switzerland.
He also executed a colourful window with the poetic title "Blossom of work in the wake of true peace" as the German contribution to the Paris World Exhibition in 1900. This subsequently found its place in the “Kapellchen”, the vaulted vestibule of the Ratskeller in the neo-Gothic Bürgersaalbau of the Frankfurt Römer.
For the German Protestant church on the island of Capri, whose architect was the Dane Aage von Kaufmann, 1852-1922, he created 3 windows for the chancel. They were a donation of Countess Harrach zu Rohrau and Thannhausen, 1901.
