Theodor van Aenvanck
(Antwerp 1633–1690)
A blue and white porcelain bowl with fruit, peeled lemons and other fruit on a partially draped table,
oil on canvas, 63.5 x 74 cm, framed
We are grateful to Fred Meijer for suggesting the attribution to Theodor Aenvanck on the basis of a photograph. He suggests dating this work to the mid-1650s.
The present composition is closely related to a signed work dated 1654 (with Richard Green, 1992) and it is a new addition to the small oeuvre of the artist’s known works, which at present amount to less than ten paintings.
