This gouache and collage executed by Giulio D’Anna in 1932/33 depicts Caproni airplanes flying and it is one of the rare cases in which the artist represents a flight emphasizing the decomposed wing planes and the engine of the plane. This kind of composition was greatly appreciated by Marinetti who, in a speech given in Messina described Giulio D’Anna as an artist who had interpreted Aeropittura in a very personal way: “Without paying attention to what has already been done, which is a Futurist rule”.
