About my small bone drawings. The small bone drawings (Knöchelchen-Zeichnungen) were my first works in 1972/73. They followed a phase of dissection in my written work at a point where I felt the effects of writing in my knuckles. Then it stopped altogether for a while, followed by the mere drawing of many individual small bones in lines, in a sort of list. But a time of composition was to follow again, according to new ideas, and with it came the retreat from the realms of the small bones. A new story. From the aforementioned literature
