Brussels (Netherlands), c. 220 x 260 cm, early 18th century. Detail of an especially fine silk-wool weaving of excellent colours with a landscape motif, a mother and her numerous children. An ominous dark cloud is visible in the upper segment. The present item, which was probably originally designed to be much larger, is well preserved with several traces of use, and is mounted on a wooden frame. (VP)
