in 1985, manufactured by Meccani Arredamenti, Cascina, Italy, in 1992, solid elm base, vertical elements of ash root wood, the columns in cherry and oak stained to simulate wenge, matt red, light blue, yellow, black and pink coated storage compartments, blue glass, signed: Sottsass 1992, copper plaque: Meccani/Sottsass/Projetto Ettore Sottsass/Libreria Liana/Num. 4/10 1992, height 220 cm, width 220 cm, depth 60 cm. No. 4 from the limited edition of 10, slightly varying in details and colour. Documented in the form of preliminary studies and design drawings by Ettore Sottsass and a letter from Ettore Sottsass to Ferdinando Meccani of 24 June 1992. The first design idea, a pencil drawing (“Non è un mobile dice Ettore”), dates from 21 January 1985.
