Designed for a temporary gardening project on the Île Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt near Paris, for using the terrain during the construction of La Seine Musicale by Shigeru Ban. The French architect Inessa Hansch drew her inspirations from Gerrit Rietveld’s “om zelf te maken” outdoor furniture from the 1940s, as well as Enzo Mari’s concept of “autoproduzione” furniture. In its formal reduction, her furniture is reminiscent of Donald Judd’s minimalism.
