Der Violinist und Konzertmeister Giovanni Maloberti (1799 - 1880), mit dem Verdi eine über fünzigjährige Freundschaft verband, wurde nach seiner aktiven Zeit als Musiker Antiquitätenhändler, der auch Verdi zu seinem Kundenkreis zählte. Für Verdi erledigte er auch wiederholt organisatorische Angelegenheiten.
