An eye-catcher is this multi-part costume for Mercédès, which was designed with great attention to detail and harmonizes with the Carmen costume: composed of a variety of materials (silk, velvet, rayon and cotton) it reflects the folkloric image of Spain that director Zeffirelli staged. It was worn by Axelle Gall, Michelle Breedt, Angelika Kirchschlager, and Gabriele Sima, among others.
The costume consists of a hair flower, bolero, blouse, skirt with bodice, petticoat and is in good condition with signs of wear.
