The Italian opera and film director Gianfranco De Bosio pursued an emphatically historical realism in his production. The rococo spirit was also exhibited in the splendid, sometimes very elaborate costumes of the former Kokoschka assistant Santuzza Calì, which were made in the usual exquisite quality by the famous Roman tailoring company Farani.
Count Warting's multi-part costume includes a three-cornered hat, a cape, a jacket, a vest, breeches, a shirt, a jabot (flounce) and a cordon. The role of this conspirator was traditionally sung by well-deserved members of the ensemble, such as Goran Simić or Dan Paul Dumitrescu.
This costume is color-finished and in good condition, but has signs of wear.
