Director Falk Richter designed a barren, cool and wintry atmosphere in the production he staged, oriented towards the often desperate and gloomy diary entries of Peter I. Tchaikovsky himself. »The music is very longing, very emotional,« he said, »and yet all these deep feelings are hidden in Eugene Onegin as if under ice. At some point I had such a picture in front of my eyes when I heard the music: an empty, wide landscape.« In this loneliness, from which none of the central figures can escape, Prince Gremin, who married Tatjana, sings in praise of love and his wife at a party: one of the musically most distinctive moments in the work. His costume, which consists of a shirt, trousers, waistcoat and frock coat, expresses his special social position: made of duchess and silk, it reflects the sovereign prince on the outside. The part in this production was sung by KS Ferruccio Furlanetto - an honorary member of the house - as well as KS Ain Anger, Jongmin Park and Mika Kares.
This costume is in very good condition.
