Verdi's »Otello« - based on Shakespeare's play of the same name - is set in Cyprus, in the middle of an armed conflict between Venice and Turkey. Since director Christine Mielitz also shifts the plot into a timeless present, between the martial arts ring and testosterone-laden self-affirmation, then the oriental elements can also be felt and hinted at in the costumes: for example, partly in the costumes of the men supernumeraries. The costume consists of a jacket and a dress, and is made of polyester and wool materials. It is in very good condition.
*As the costume was made to measure for the supernumerary, it may differ from the standard size.
