prototype of the Columbus Rolling Globe, based on the 50 cm Diameter-version of “COLUMBUS ERDGLOBUS / Bearbeitet / von Dr. Karlheinz Wagner / COLUMBUS VERLAG PAUL OESTERGAARD K. G. BERLIN UND STUTTGART”, 12 coloured paper gores on hollow aluminium sphere, full brass meridian ring removed, sphere on ball bearing, horizontal ring showing degrees, hours, days, months, seasons, astrological signs and astonomical constellation, four-armed wood stand with central square-section pillar on square stepped plinth base with four feet. Damages. Diameter c. 50 cm, height c. 115 cm. (WU).
